We often see sharks as scary creatures of the deep, however, there is more to them than that. It is not very well known that many shark species are in decline on a global scale. Sharks have a major contribution to the ecosystem as a whole. During this specialty, you will study the value and importance of sharks to both marine and human life. With this being said, we will also look at why sharks are in decline and how to prevent a further decrease. This particular specialty can primarily be presented as a classroom exercise or can include 2 dives as well. On the positive side, we credit your first dive of this course as 1 adventure dive towards your AOWC course. Nusa Penida Island is home to a few different species, so a sighting is relatively high, especially at Manta Point. Look out for the local Bamboo sharks.

Second, it will help you gain the confidence you need when using your compass underwater. It is a challenging course but is definitely worth the reward of the certification at the end. We will focus on compass use, natural navigation techniques, calculating distance underwater, map drawing underwater, and many more fun exercises. Once you have completed this program, you will gain the trust of your dive buddies on your next diving adventure.
