BECOME A LEGEND DIVING TEAM MEMBER
Divemaster interns immediately become valuable members of the team at Legend Diving Penida. Since you will train and dive with us for a few weeks, we do not consider you as a “regular customer”. On that note, we will give you certain responsibilities to help the permanent staff run a smooth diving operation. In doing so, it will provide great, firsthand experience if you do choose to work as a Divemaster. This experience includes, but is not limited to, trip preparations, equipment maintenance, dive site planning, and more.
The Divemaster Course Nusa Penida is a lot of fun. Arriving in a foreign country with the opportunity to meet and work with people from around the world is amazing. Consequently, you will form close relationships with your Divemaster mentor, Diemaster classmates, and the other dive center staff. In addition, we usually have a few Divemaster candidates at once, which makes the experience even more memorable. Friendships the last a lifetime will be made whilst at the dive center, on the boat, or at the bar. Most of our candidates never want to leave. In fact, many of them stay and continue their dive training.

DIVEMASTER COURSE NUSA PENIDA PREREQUISITES
INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS BASED ON LENGTH OF TRAINING
4 Week Internship – Divemaster candidates must have already fulfilled all prerequisites in order to begin. Consequently, this package is our shortest option without any add ons or specialty workshops.
5 Week Internship – Divemaster candidates should already have a minimum certification of EFR & be a Rescue Diver. Additionally, 30 logged dives are required.
6 Week Internship- Divemaster candidates should have an AOW certification with at least 20 logged dives.
7 Week Internship – Divemaster candidates should have an OW certification with at least 10 logged dives.
8 Week Internship – Divemaster candidates are not required to have any diving certifications.

We are firm believers that learning happens best when you have the right facilities in place. Or dive center has been proudly set up with excellent facilities that cater to all learning disciplines. Our air-conditioned classrooms are the perfect place for knowledge development and to keep you cool in the Indonesian heat. We broke the onsite pool up into 3 depth levels, thus enabling different course practices for different diver levels. Having said that, our pool is big enough to have a number of people in it at the same time.

3 STAGES OF DIVEMASTER DEVELOPMENT
STAGE 1 – KNOWLEDGE DEVELOPMENT
On enrolment, you will receive a PADI Divemaster manual that comprises 9 separate theory sections. Each section contains a knowledge review that needs to be completed, and thereafter your mentor will review them with you. In addition to the textbook work, there will also be various multimedia presentations as well as classroom exercises. Notably, we will cover extra topics that aren’t in the PADI syllabus, however, are great additions to your training.
STAGE 2 – WATER SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
The majority of your time spent on water skills development will be in the pool with your Divemaster mentor. First, we will assess your swim level with a few exercises. Next, you will learn, practice, and eventually, master the PADI 24 skills circuit. We will conduct certain portions of the water skill development in open water. For example, we will practice the rescue scenarios in lifelike situations. In that case, be sure to brush up on your Rescue diver skill set.
STAGE 3 – PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Here, you will have the chance to put the theory and skills you have learned into practice. Before completing your training you will need to assist with PADI courses, conduct Divemaster authorized programs, and manage dive activities. This truly is a fun part of your course as you get hands-on experience with students and other guests.

In the beginning, you will take an active role in assisting our Instructor, staff, and qualified Divemaster’s. We will give you an introduction to life at Legend Diving Penida and how we operate, daily. On that note, you will join our daily diving trips and get aquatinted with the local dive sites. Additionally, you will get to know your Divemaster mentor as they start imparting their knowledge and experience to you.

Once the first week is completed, we will then officially introduce you to your Divemaster program and explain the requirements. Now is the time where you will work closely together with your Divemaster mentor and other diving staff. First, you will start diving deeper into your knowledge development sessions, and PADI skills circuit training. Second, you will start to prepare and conduct several tasks that are required for your course. At this stage, you will be familiar with the dive center, and the daily diving trips to our dive sites. As a result, your confidence levels will be higher as you learn and practice, day by day.

Upon reaching the final week of your Divemaster training, you should have ticked most of the requirements off the list. Additionally, you should be more comfortable with the operational procedures at Legend Diving and confident with your new abilities. As we start moving away from the assessments and dialing back into the daily diving routine, your tasks will change. Having said that, your mentor will expect you to organize diving trips, conduct dive briefings, supervise divers underwater, and more. In fact, at this stage of your training, you will have enough experience to show others some unique marine. Furthermore, we will evaluate your professionalism towards the guests and staff alike.

TYPICAL DAY DURING YOUR DIVEMASTER COURSE NUSA PENIDA
The daily schedule of a Divemaster candidate at Legend Diving Penida will vary based on a number of factors. It would be impossible to provide an accurate account of each day as there are different variables affecting daily plans. However, we do try and plan the schedule so that all Divemaster candidates can complete specific tasks, together.
Below is an average day for a Divemaster candidate at Legend Diving:
07:00 AM – All staff and Divemaster candidates must arrive at the dive center at least 1 hour before the other guests. Here, we will check the equipment for each guest going on the boat to make sure it’s correct. After, we will prepare the boat with tanks, food, oxygen, etc. This is also the time where your mentor will brief you on your specific tasks for the day.
08:00 AM – All guests will arrive at the Dive center. We will welcome them, offer tea/coffee/water, and assist them with wetsuit sizing. Divemaster candidates will also brief guests on the daily plan, depending on where you are with your training.
