What’s Your Training Looks Like

Padi Rescue Course Penida

The Padi Rescue Diver course equips you to handle dive emergencies, whether they are small or significant, employing various techniques. Through a combination of knowledge enhancement and rescue drills, you’ll discover what signs to observe and how to react effectively.

In the theory portion, you’ll delve into the psychological factors involved in emergencies, helping you develop the right mindset for rescue situations. You’ll also cover all the practical aspects of managing an emergency. Plus, you’ll learn how to administer first aid for injuries like stings and gain a deeper insight into decompression sickness.

During the practical section, you will be able to apply what you have learned in the theory. We will conduct skills either in confined water or open water. Firstly, you will conduct several self-rescue skills. You’ll then transfer some rescue skills onto your fellow divers. Learn to recognize and deal with different signs of diver stress. Next, you will utilize navigation skills to rescue a missing diver.

In this section, you’ll learn how to administer emergency oxygen and how to properly use other equipment. Then, you will complete the final task of surfacing with an unresponsive diver. You will take them to land and administer rescue breaths. You will definitely feel accomplished after a challenging task like this!

For you to gain your certification you will need to spend 3 days with us on the beautiful and relaxed island of Nusa Penida. If you are taking the EFR + Rescue Combo package, then you will need to add 1 more day for the EFR Course.

How This Training Can Save Lifes

Are You Ready for the Rescue Course in Penida?

Jumping from being an advanced scuba diver to a rescue scuba diver is a big step that involves additional responsibilities. If you are a confident diver and love the sound of being accountable to others, then welcome aboard.

We recommend having at least 20 – 30 dives before starting your PADI Rescue Course Penida. This will give you the time needed to work on your diving skills. If you feel a lack of confidence in any, then you should consider taking a specialty course to prepare. It is normal to feel anxious about signing up, but it is worth the reward of the Rescue Diver certification. Like everything, it is 100% attainable if you put your mind to it.

Remember, before enrolling in the PADI Rescue Course Penida, ensure your EFR or equivalent has been completed within 24 months. If it is out of the 24-month window, no problem! A Legend Diving Penida instructor will conduct a refresher course with you. If you don’t have an EFR certification, sign up for the EFR and Rescue Diver combination package.

By the end of this course, you will be exhausted and maybe a little overwhelmed! However, you will have a great sense of achievement and self-development as you realize that you are able to do things you never thought possible in the most challenging of times

Today you will meet your Padi Instructor and sit down with you to revise what was completed during the self-study, as wellas checking the online digital forms filled in. To assess your understanding of the self-study you will need to complete a quick review.

Its now time to start the confined water session. Your instructor will demonstrate the different Rescue skills to you and your classmates. You will learn how to self-rescue, buddy rescue, and navigate underwater by using a compass. For every skill demonstrated, you will mimic the instructor and try to perfect the skill. Your instructor may present potential problems that may impede a perfect rescue. This can cause stress in a real-life situation, and that is why we practice them in the pool beforehand. If you are having a hard time, don’t worry. Your instructor is there to help. Always!

It is now time to head out into the ocean. Your instructor and other classmates will present possible dive emergencies, and you will need to fix them. Based on the skills you learned, you will assess the situation, think about the best course of action, and act. You will need to show an understanding of how to fulfill each rescue and emergency equipment use. After you have demonstrated each skill individually, your instructor will put them together and present a few scenarios to you. You will need to perfect the rescues, bring the diver back to the boat and resuscitate them. If you need to do the scenarios a few times before finishing, that’s ok. Practice makes perfect.

The course is full-on and tiring. However, it will provide a great sense of self-accomplishment and a skill set that is valuable and highly recognized. contact us for more details.

I did both my Rescue and one-month Divemaster course with Legend Diving Penida – one of the coolest experiences of my life! My mentor Rita was like my mama for the month – patient, supportive, and even found me my first mola molas. Thank you to my fellow DMTs Paulina and Arga and the whole Legend team that taught me so much and made it soooo fun :))) All the dive sites were incredible – SD, Ped, Karang Sari, Batu Nunggul, and many more – each offering beautiful marine life, challenging drifts, and unforgettable manta encounters. Feeling very blessed for this experience 🥰

I did my rescue diving there, it’s great. They can offer training in French and you might be lucky enough to be trained by Maly who, in addition to being very competent and downright fun, is also a great place to be. I highly recommend this center and thank them at the same time.

I did my rescue diver course with Becca and Rita which were both not only very skillful divers but also excellent teachers. They made sure I carried out each exercise efficiently and safely, trying to make it as realistic as possible, repeating each exercise as many times as neccesary, offering to show me corrections and suggestions about technique, without hurrying or pushing me but making sure I was ready before moving on to the next task. It was a great experience and I would totally recommend it. Also I had no problems with the online course through the official PADI site. See you when I come back to the island!!
