WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE PADI RESCUE COURSE PENIDA?
The PADI Rescue Course Penida prepares divers in handling emergency situations above and below the water. We will conduct the course over 3 days. If you decide to enroll in the EFR + Rescue combination package, then it will take 4 days. During the course, student divers will learn the various techniques used to save fellow divers from danger. Learning will come in a theoretical and practical format. You will work closely with your instructor to ensure success in both fields. During the theory portion, you will watch videos, self-study, and complete the knowledge development questions. The theory will introduce you to what we will expect in the practical sessions. Having theoretical knowledge will ensure preparation for how the course will unfold.
Once you have completed the bookwork, it will be time to step into the practicality of the course. Here you will work together with your instructor and classmates in perfecting the different rescue scenarios that might unfold. Some of the rescue skills learned to involve; self-rescue skills, buddy rescue, navigation, emergency oxygen use, and many more. We will practice the skills on land and in our on-site pool before heading into the ocean. Once you and your instructor are happy with the progress, then the big test will follow. The ocean test. Here you will be challenged, as you now need to show that you can conduct the various rescues at sea. It is imperative that you feel comfortable as the ocean is where most potential dive emergencies will occur.
Once you’ve demonstrated your skills and proven your ability to be a rescue diver, you will feel satisfied and accomplished. It truly is a rewarding and beneficial course.
COURSE STRUCTURE
Your PADI Rescue Course Penida will have the following layout over the 3-day period at Legend Diving Penida:
Day 1
First, you will watch the 5 mandatory Rescue videos and complete the related knowledge development questions for each. If it limits your holiday time on the island, then worry not, we have the solution! By choosing the PADI Rescue Diver eLearning course, then the course theory can be completed at home before arriving. If you choose this option, your instructor will revise your knowledge development before starting the rest of the course.
Day 2
The second day is a dry land and confined water session. Your instructor will demonstrate the different Rescue skills to you and your classmates. You will learn how to self-rescue, buddy rescue, and navigate underwater by using a compass. For every skill demonstrated, you will mimic the instructor and try to perfect the skill. Your instructor may present potential problems that may impede a perfect rescue. This can cause stress in a real-life situation, and that is why we practice them in the pool beforehand. If you are having a hard time, don’t worry. Your instructor is there to help. Always!
Day 3
It is now time to head out into the ocean. Your instructor and other classmates will present possible dive emergencies, and you will need to fix them. Based on the skills you learned, you will assess the situation, think about the best course of action, and act. You will need to show an understanding of how to fulfill each rescue and emergency equipment use. After you have demonstrated each skill individually, your instructor will put them together and present a few scenarios to you. You will need to perfect the rescues, bring the diver back to the boat and resuscitate them. If you need to do the scenarios a few times before finishing, that’s ok. Practice makes perfect. If you have any questions, contact us for more information.

I signed up for the Rescue Course Penida and had an exceptional experience from start to finish. I had the same instructor for both my EFR and Rescue Diver course, which was fantastic. Together, we worked on my strengths and weaknesses as he had seen my progress throughout the course. He was professional and patient. He gave me time to practice my skills until I felt comfortable and ready to move forward. I learned so many valuable diver safety skills that I will carry with me, always. I feel well equipped for any emergencies that may occur on the surface or underwater. One day, I would love to do a divemaster training course as I believe there is still so much to learn. Thank you, Legend Diving Penida. See you again
