DIVEMASTER COURSE PENIDA ULTIMATE – SPECIALTIES
Deep Diver Speciality
Scuba divers all have the tendency of wanting to go deeper whilst underwater. Generally, deeper waters hold life that we cannot see from above, thus making it more of an adventure. On that note, the Deep Diver specialty will certify you to dive to a maximum depth of 40metres. It is a whole new world down there, so be ready to get memorized. Additionally, we will cover deep dive planning procedures, how to manage gas, the effects of nitrogen narcosis, and buddy procedures. All in all, it is a guaranteed thrill of a lifetime, and will certainly leave you wanting more.
Nitrox Diver Specialty
During your Nitrox specialty training, you will learn how to dive using Enriched Air. In a nutshell, Enriched Air allows you to dive deeper for longer, which is ultimately what we want as divers. Consequently, it is the most popular specialty of them all, for obvious reason. Diving with Nitrox will make your deeper dives, safer dives. Nusa Penida Island is home to the Manta Ray and Mola Mola, which are both rare species to find. Nitrox diving increases your chances of finding a Mola in the deep and allows longer Manta Ray visits.
You will learn all that there is to know about Enriched Air during your Nitrox Specialty training. Overall, the science behind it will leave you fascinated.
Underwater Naturalist
Discover more about how the ecosystem thrives below the surface of the water during your Underwater Naturalist Specialty course. Together with your mentor, you will study the relationships between the various marine life that call the ocean, home. Additionally, we will pay special attention to the ecology and local habitat of Nusa Penida, and what makes it unique. Once you have a better understanding of how the world below comes together, it will truly improve your future dives.
Project AWARE Specialty
One of the most popular training courses is the PADI Project AWARE specialty, and this is for a good reason. Project AWARE is a worldwide project that aims to clean, protect, and preserve our oceans through various underwater missions. Throughout your training, you will learn how to be a better ambassador, and how to help keep it clean. Additionally, you will be actively involved in various discussions, and watch presentations that will ultimately expand your ocean conservation knowledge. Those who partake usually leave with a newfound appreciation for the ocean and become more conscious of their daily behaviors. AWARE Coral Reef Conservation Specialty
If you are a coral enthusiast and learning about different coral species excites you, then you’re in the right place. Along with your classmates and Divemaster mentor, you will not only study coral but also learn how to protect it. Each coral species plays a specific role in the underwater ecosystem, and we will dive deeper into why they exist. Additionally, we will organize a coral watch dive where we will practically assess and record the health of each coral. On that note, coral bleaching is sadly taking its toll around the world, and we will look at why. As scuba divers, we are ambassadors of the ocean and it is our duty to keep it clean.
Manta Conduct Dive
Together with the Marine Megafauna Foundation, we have created a workshop enabling you to further understand the local Manta Rays. Study their physiology, how and why they behave the way they do, their unique habitats, and more. Not only will you dive with them, but you will also learn how to spot them and collect important data. The data received is recorded and will be used to help protect and monitor these beautiful creatures.
