The Emergency First Responder Penida course improves your medical awareness and will make you a safer person. First, you will learn how to use EFR skills through video, self-study, and instructor explanation. And in addition, it is a fun and interactive atmosphere where you will practice possible real-life scenarios with your classmates. As citizens of the world, it is important to have at least some basic first aid training. As divers, having this training will make us a valuable team member on our diving adventures. With this in mind, we hope to never face an emergency, but the training will give us the reassurance we need.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONDER PENIDA?
WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONDER PENIDA?
The Emergency First Responder Penida course will take 1 day to complete. First, the course will start with demonstrative videos that will introduce you to the EFR program. The videos will cover both primary and secondary care for adults, children, and infants. The primary care part covers medical care such as:
- CPR
- Serious bleeding management.
- Spinal injury treatment.
- Treating people who are in shock and how to handle someone that is choking.
- Using an AED and emergency oxygen.
Secondary care shows how to apply first aid including:
- How to conduct an injury or illness assessment
- How to bandage, splint, and treat bleeding wounds or bone damage.
The fun begins as we take the theory and finally put it into practical situations. You will practice skills seen in the videos with your instructor and other EFR candidates. People feel impressed both by the knowledge they have gained and how they put it into actual scenarios.
One requirement for the PADI Rescue Diver Course is to have first aid training. The EFR course is enough and also internationally approved. If you are looking to become a PADI Professional, similarly, the EFR certification will be sufficient. Being EFR certified and stepping up into a leadership role within scuba diving goes hand in hand. In the end, you will feel prepared and ready to become a Rescue Diver once we finish the EFR training.
