What You Need to Know to Start Your Adventure

The Requirement to Become PADI Course Director Penida?

Climbing the PADI ladder is fun and will certainly provide you with plenty of diving knowledge along the way. Our PADI Course Director Penida program will allow you to reach the penultimate level of the journey. When you become a Course Director, you can conduct your own IDC programs.

Notably, this is the highest status achievable amongst recreational divers. We must remember that becoming a course director is a hard process that takes dedication. In that case, you should be certain about your choice and devotion to the diving industry. In order to enroll in the Course director training course, you will need to earn your spot. Therefore, all candidates will need to tackle a strict application process where their experience and reputation are assessed. If accepted, then you will attend various workshops, presentations, and in-water evaluations. The training will last for 9 days.

  • No Quality Assurance Complaints filed with PADI
  • Conducted every level of diver training according to PADI standards, as outlined in the Instructor Manual. Any modifications to the course must have been approved by PADI.
  • Exclusive usage of the PADI system, including dive manuals, videos, exams, lesson guides, etc.
  • Issued only PADI certifications to students.
  • Completed all System, Standards and Procedures portion of the IE exam with a score of 85% or higher.
  • The rest of the IE must have been completed with a score of 83% or higher.

Must have staffed at least 2 complete IDCs or a mix of two AI and two OWSI programs. Additionally, it’s recommended to have also one AI, one OWSI, and one full IDC after you are an IDC Staff Instructor. Lastly, it must have been done since the introduction of the current IDC curriculum

  • Working with a PADI Resort & Retail Association Member.
  • Organized or led 1 Project AWARE Dive Against Debris Cleanup.
  • Setup of a My Ocean Profile.
  • Promoted AWARE C-Card.
  • One additional Project AWARE event such as cleanup, Coral Watch, fundraising, etc. within the last 3 years.

What to Keep in Mind

PADI Course Director Penida Application

The PADI Course Director training happens in 2 locations and only twice a year. Notably, the first one takes place in March in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. Moreover, the second training follows in June, in the Dominican Republic. We must remember that each of the sessions allows for a maximum of 40 students.

In order to be accepted, PADI will conduct an assessment of your experience and reputation.

In the case that you meet all of the requirements, you would have made past the first big step. Next, you will have an interview with PADI where you’ll detail the reasons for wanting to become a Course Director. Additionally, you will discuss your application and anything else worth noting. Once PADI has assessed your full application, they will then conduct a review and determine your eligibility.

It certainly sounds a little daunting, we know.

Best diving school in Nusa Penida. Really nice dive instructors and brand new stuff. It’s a new diving school and they don’t dive with more than with 4 people in a group so it’s really nice and fun.
